This Video (street psychology)

In this excerpt a few friends of mine, in an undisclosed location, are making a street protest-discussion on the topic of music, psychology, and freedom. They make some very important points--such as why shouldn't we be free to express ourselves wherever we want? I think this is one of the defining features of civilizations, how much freedom of expression there really is. Notably in this video some people very much enjoy spontaneous fun and creativity while others have different boundaries, either defined by personal values/ideas or by ideas that originate in other cultures, such as that of department stores and corporate associations.

there is a time and a place for everything pal, annoying people while they r trying to shop is no way to justify your art... you dont see sales associates trying to solicitate bottles of perfume at your local music venus... thats just "annoying". no offense to your friend but art, much like religion need not be shoved in peoples faces

chrisopher, I disagree. at first I thought that too, however the guy is just trying to make a point that you cannot express your culture everywhere in this country; and some spaces want to control their environment so much that you can only exist there by their rules (try to feel cool in a WalMart). He should have left that girl alone and not taped her, but he was just asking a question--why didn't she keep walking?
Also, if someone was just joking and sold perfume at a show--without the barage--I'd laugh and say nice try silly =)

Indeed, different people have different reactions, hers was not ideal and not one I would explore. That girl was fake in any case. However, this argument has reached opinion, he can express his "culture" (if you really want to call it that)anywhere he wants, but just dont expect people to translate singing loudly in public to be culture(coming from a singer in a rock band who is as culturally aware as anyone). And let the record show, I do in fact feel cool in Walmart.

Chris, for my bottom line I think the world and people in general should be more open to each other--to discussions, to expression, to conversations; we shouldn't control each other so much but be open to the way other people communicate. and if someone bothers us we need to mention it to the other person who will then have a chance to respond.
thats the beauty of communica!
